Grants and Funding
Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky receives funding from the following United Way organizations:

- Heart of Kentucky United Way
- United Way of South Central Kentucky
- United Way of Eastern Kentucky
KHAKY has received grants from local regional and national foundations including:
- Steel Reese Foundation
- Junior League of Lexington
- Keeneland Foundation
Fundraising Events
Most of the funding of KHAKY programs and services comes from various fundraising events.
Trees of Life - Festival of Trees
This event has been the signature fundraising event for KHAKY for over 20 years. It is held annually in late November at the Mall at Lexington Green, Lexington, KY.
Walk with Sidney
A combination of a fitness walk and health fair, this event is held the first weekend in March inside Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY. The walk, led by our mascot, Sidney the Kidney, is followed by a health screening for kidney disease.
Texas Hold'em Tournaments
Twice a year, KHAKY hosts a No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament. Locations and dates vary.
Other fundraising events may include partnerships with local businesses, raffles, yard sales, etc.
